ENVIRONMENTAL RIGHTS:

DEFINE: Environmental rights

Environmental right are laws and rights that humans have to protect the environment. In Australia not only do humans have the right to protect the environment but also the federal government and State governments look after the environment by having laws that protect our natural heritage and built features.
Without these laws, many of our special features and threatened plants and animals would not be protected. This chapter looks at the important environmental laws that currently exist in Australia.
Department of the Environment and Heritage
The DEH advises the Australian Government on policies to protect the environment and heritage.
The DEH looks after the development in Australia in order to sustain the environment, environmental education, climate change issues, the Great Barrier Reef, parks and reserves and many other things.
Development:
Over the past years polluting habits have increased. Today nations don’t really care about climate change.
According to Mr. Peter seradzki he says, “The world is slowly being destroyed by the carelessness of some people” he says that the amount of pollution is unbelievable and is increasing dramatically.
For example, it is known that about 80% of the greenhouse gases responsible for global warming come from the burning of fossil fuels. Then why do humans continue to burn fuels if they know that the world is being ruined by it?
Environmental rights haven’t really changed anyone’s point of view of the world. Mr. Peter seradzki says

Why poison the waters and destroy fisheries? Why is the world so addicted to fossil fuels that gas must be squeezed from rock through extreme practices? Why disrupt natural cycles, take out already scarce water and pollute the remainder. I believe the time has come for a global ban on extractive activities in fragile ecosystems including nature reserves, sacred and heritage sites. realize that what we need is good unpolluted soil and water, not crude oil.
He says that the world was much healthier in the early 90’s than it is today, he says that the humans themselves are ruining the world and don’t even realise it.
